Why should I see Slum Dog?

I know ..I know…they have a lot of awards. The critics love the plot..the fans love the way it makes them feel. O’k, it’s borderline creepy how moist Meredith Vieira becomes when she talks about the movie. Cool, the plot seems pretty original but considering the economic recession that I am suffering from personally? Why would I want to see possibly even poorer people than me? I really can’t come up with one solid reason to get up off of my lazy ass and sit in a theater for 2 hours.
