The Christmas Day bid to blow up a US bound plane is turning out to be more complicated for the US government than simply a foiled act of terrorism. Last week on December 25th, as the last elf smoked his last cigarette while making his last toy, a Nigerian man tried to blow up a commercial airplane. He was on the UK “watch list”. He had been denied a VISA to the UK. Ready for the curve? And now, word is he trained in an Al Qaeda stronghold in Yemen; this spells trouble for Obama and his Guantanamo Bay prison plans. As part of his campaign, the president promised to shut down the not-so-secret prison when he took office. The problem always was what to do with the prisoners. There are some 80 Yemeni prisoners at the military prison now, the US government was planning to send them back to Yemen when the base closed. But any publicist would advise against that now, after a man — admittedly NOT Yemeni — trained in the country to blow up an airplane as an act of Islamic fundamentalism. Many of the Guantanamo Bay prisoners are bound for a jail in the US (as was announced some weeks ago). Already six of the Yemen born prisoners have been sent home, however. Granted, they’re being sent back to Yemen PRISONS, but apparently the escape rate for Al Qaeda connected men in that country is higher than fans of El-P. The prison guards, sh*t the prison ITSELF, might be in the pocket of Al Qaeda to begin with, which would obviously make escape a whole lot easier. And things just keep on getting trickier for Obama…
