She’s an 18 year old rapper who’s seen hard times. Growing up in Tampa’s Robles Park projects, we’re told that she spent years “living with her brother and sister out of her mother’s car, homeless and hustling on the streets”. Dominique Young Unique’s vocals are raw but full of personality and she grabs you with the life and energy that she brings to the song. I love the way that the bass kicks in a minute into the number : it’s a killer dance track.
