It’s been a really weird year for Indiana sports. Well, that’s just my opinion. It’s just the way I see it.
First, let’s start off with the Indiana Fever. They played great that season and made it to the WNBA Finals. But they couldn’t top it off with a win, losing there.
There was a similar situation just like that for a different Indiana sports team. The Indianapolis Colts. Almost finishing towards 16-0, but at 14-2, they made it to the Super Bowl after passing by the New York Jets in the AFC Championship. They later went on to play the Saints, failing in the second half and ending with a 31-17 loss.
And then there are the Butler Bulldogs. Known as a huge underdog of the 2010 NCAA Tournament, they went on a Cinderella run to the championship and facing the Duke Blue Devils. They played great, giving a hard test to them. But they lost 61-59. They had the best chance to win it all than any other Indiana sports team this year, in my opinion. But it ended off a halfcourt shot, barely missing it.
Oh, and don’t get me started with those Pacers. My God!
Pretty much 3 out of 4 Indiana teams I have mentioned here have made it to the big show. But they lost it. I wouldn’t say it was a bad year. I mean, at least they made it to the big game. I would rather have that than any of those teams not making the playoffs and sucking (cough, like my Pacers this year, cough).
But hey, this year is interesting for Indiana Sports. Not bad but I could see it could be great. Interesting is where it fits.
I wonder what it would look like for these teams next year.
