After a horrible season for Jake Delhomme, the Panthers released him as the season ended. The Panthers now have resigned quarterback Matt Moore to a one-year deal which is over $3M. Could Moore be the starter coming for next season?

It may be if the Panthers decide to not draft Tim Tebow. But Moore could be a good quarterback. After not playing since 2007 with 730 yards, three touchdowns and five interceptions, and a 67 rating.

It all changed that season last year, with 1,053 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions, and a 98.5 rating. He filled in greatly for Delhomme and his struggles. After seeing those stats you can see from 2009, Moore could be the future for Carolina.

It can work. We’ll just wait and see once training camp hits.

Wednesday’s Daily Show w/ John Stewart interview segment was one of the most intense in recent memory.  By “intense” I mean thoroughly and thoughtfully debated by both sides, with very little jokes interwoven in.  Stewart hosted previous George W. Bush speechwriter and current author Marc Thiessen, he was on to promote his book “Courting Disaster: How the CIA Kept America Safe and How Barack Obama Is Inviting the Next Attack“.  Apparently presidential speech writers don’t understand the concepts of simplicity or subtlety.  Not this one, at least.  And surprisingly, for a Bush administration head, he was kind of a cry baby.  While defending the use of waterboarding, and other questionable interrogation methods (which he, Rove, and Rumsfeld conveniently labeled “enhanced interrogation techniques”), Thiessen made a few points which to any rational person would consider openly debatable.  Whenever he did, Stewart would jump in to make that obvious to the audience, mentioning the flip side of the coin.  Thiessen complained several times about “not getting a chance to make his points”; shocking considering the amount of respect guests get on The Daily Show.  To his credit, Stewart apologized even though he thought Thiessen was given ample time, and proceeded to give Thiessen an extended interview which is now available on the Daily Show website.  All this torture talk has been stewing up the surface as of late.  Liz Cheney made quite the stir this week by referring to the lawyers who defended accused terrorists as the “Al-Qaeda Seven” in a television political ad (which Stewart compared to John Adams; he defended a number of British troops in court of openly firing on unarmed civilians in the famed Boston Massacre).  Karl Rove went on the offensive by saying he’s “proud” of the previous administration for its use of waterboarding.  The Thiessen/Stewart conversation is well worth watching (and well worth having), here are links to all 3 parts:

There is nothing that makes you feel older than a kid growing up and popping out kids! Saved By The Bell cutie, Mario Lopez is going to be a daddy. Lopez has just announced that his girlfriend, Courtney Mazza, a Broadway dancer, is expecting their first child. Lopez says that he is excited to be a dad (of course, the usual man statement. What was he suppose to say… the truth, like… F*ck I knew that b*tch wasn’t on birthcontrol!). Lopez popularity came back once he was on the show, Dancing With The Stars, and dated his dance partner, ever so fine, Karina Smirnoff. He also became the sexy co-host for the show “Extra”.

Drugs have once again claimed another star way to soon. Beloved Corey Haim died today at the age of 38, reason for his death has not been determined but most likely it was due to his life long addiction with drugs.  Haim first entered the scene when he was 10 doing TV commercials, then became a instant star at the age of 15, whwere he was in the hit movie “The Lost Boys”. Sadly,it was the beginning of the end, for that was where he also had his first drug, pot. In the 80’s there was 2 famous teenage  Coreys (2nd was Feldman),  both suffered from drug issues, came together a few years ago with their own reality show on A&E called “The Two Corey’s”, unfortunately it was cancelled after 2 seasons. Things were looking up for Haim, with a new movie called “American Sunset” , in which it would have been his first comeback in years since he left, but sadly after years of abuse his body could not go on. Hiam’s mother had called 911 when he colapsed after getting out of bed.
